Majorca

Soon I’ll be off to the Spanish island of Majorca, I have already been told that a considerable amount of luck will be needed to find the species I’m after here due to the prolonged summer drought and high temperatures. Its going to be a tough one to find a Majorcan midwife toad (Alytes muletensis) or the secretive Algerian false smooth snake (Macroprotodon mauritanicus) but I’m going to give it my best shot! Thankfully some of my other targets, such as the endemic Lilford’s wall lizard (Podarcis lilfordi) should be relatively easy…
