In August 2016 I visited my friends on the small Greek island of Symi. Despite summer temperatures of over 40degrees I did find some interesting species, including several Golden skinks (Trachylepis auratus) and two Cat snakes (Telescopus fallax) out crawling at night. Although most days I spend resting on the beach or swimming in the sea. I also enjoyed spending time birding with ex pat Lyndon Savage, who has a nice website about Symi wildlife. Many thanks to Nicholas and Adriana Shum for their hospitality once again!
