Costa Rica 2011

Costa Rica, December 2010

Just before Christmas 2010 I had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica with Andrew Gray who is curator of Herpetology at the Manchester museum. During my 10 days in this beautiful, ecologically aware country I spent time on both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts as well as the dry Guanacaste province in the north-west of the country. Although my personal favourite part of the trip was spending time at the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center (CRARC) owned by Brian Kubicki in the central Talamanca mountain range. During the course of the trip I finally had the opportunity to see many of the neotropical frogs in the wild having worked with them for several years in captivity at the Manchester museum.
