Sea krait islands

I spent some time during the February half-term holidays island-hopping in southern Thailand. This was not a field trip as such but more of a holiday. One delightful bonus was the abundance of yellow-lipped sea kraits (Laticauda colubrina) on some of the smaller islands. As well as those coming to land in the evening, Kat met a number of them while snorkeling but sadly her underwater camera flooded on the first day so all those experiences went undocumented. That being said, we saw a good number of kraits on land so that made it for this disappointment!

Oriental pied hornbill (Anthracoceros albirostris)
Mangrove pit viper (Trimeresurus purpeomaculatus)
Painted bronzeback (Dendrelaphis pictus) having an amphibian meal.
