King cobra (Ophiophagus hannah), Phetchaburi, Thailand
This was the first King cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) from our trip. As I got out of the car and ran towards it, Carl had the better idea to take some photos from a distance. In the photo the snake is scanning it’s surroundings (not rearing up at me, notice the hood is not spread at all) before taking flight as I approached. An exciting first encounter of the trip!
Black-thighed falconets (Microhierax fringillarius)
The second King cobra (Ophiophagus hannah). This one seen after dark less than two hours after finding the first one!
