Local reptiles update

Since I came back from Greece I have been out and about a couple of times. Twice I visited my local population of Adders (Vipera berus) finding 14 females on one occasion. I also saw a number of new born Common lizards (Zootoca vivipara) and the usual adults at another site. The weather already feels cooler and within a month most of the reptiles will be thinking about hibernating.

As usual all adder photographs are taken with my 100-400mm lens at this time of year to avoid disturbance to the gravid females.
