Summer adders

Today I paid a visit to one of my local sites for adders (Vipera berus). Eight familiar females were quickly seen although they were harder to spot in the long vegetation compared to spring. This is the highest number of females I have seen during one visit so the conditions must have been optimum at the time. Last weekend I also saw a couple of Common lizards (Zootoca vivipara) up on the moors.
