Bank holiday

This bank holiday weekend I’ve spent quite a bit of time out and about. On Saturday and Sunday a number of nice birds were seen, highlight being a Short-eared owl (Asio flammeus). This was seen twice over the weekend, the second time it was a sat on a post right next to the road but as always when this happens there is a car right behind you. Today in nice weather a male adder (Vipera berus) was interacting with two females, a further male was happy to be by himself a little further away. Thanks to Steve for some info regarding some bird species.

  1. Thanks Paul. I had two short-eared owls fly over my car on Monday evening. Was a nice encounter! Matt
