Sunny spring weekend

On Saturday in nice weather I explored an upland site for adders (Vipera berus) and I was disappointed to only find three males, although one was a very nice individual. There had been evidence of a lot of disturbance at this site which I don’t visit very often due to the amount of people who go there to see the adders. However, we met a nice couple there who work closely with the adders in a way which is productive to the animals and their conservation. On Sunday in equally nice weather we did a nice walk in West Yorkshire, seeing the usual upland bird species and a few common lizards (Zootoca vivipara) enjoying the sunshine by the paths as the dog walkers walked by without noticing them.
