Yesterday, very cold day and this male Adder (Vipera berus) decided to check out the sun rays but soon realised just how cold the wind was and ventured back underground. It was likely this adders first appearance, his very drab colouration and dried dirt along the body indicate he has not thermoregulated efficiently so far this year. More to come over the coming weeks I hope!
